35th Homecoming

The View From the Top

Thank you to everyone for making our 35th homecoming a memorable one:

  • johnny liao – for getting the shirts done, the banner, organizing everyone to attend, lifting the 76 banner higher than the other batch banners (despite being “height-challenged”) and having the patience to bring around all those shirts in his SUV to all the batch get-togethers prior to the homecoming
  • toti singson – for making everyone “konsensya” to attend, because he was attending
  • cesar santiago, chuck garrison, eugene jose – for making that short trip from california to mandaluyong to join us
  • dondi joseph – for those 6 bottles of wine that got everyone into the mood.
  • vivian singson – for taking over the t-shirt bangketa sale after johnny liao got too busy to sell t-shirts
  • susan estrada – for trying to keep her husband from drinking (unsuccessfully) because he had a race to run the next day
  • albert quintos, dondi custodio, benjo gana, mark bocobo, ray acevedo, nick tolentino, pepper nakpil, ricky berenguer, fr. dennis meim – for making sure i wasn’t the only “honor section” there. (did i miss anyone?)
  • timmy lee – for the 2 bottles of wine (was that wine? it was certainly sweet.)
  • luke esteban, susan estrada, earl torres – for documenting the night with your cameras & posting them on Facebook. (as of this writing. any more photos will be appreciated.)
  • hans peter smit
    for bringing everyone’s attention (again) to 76 when henry atayde asked “anong batch ka talaga, hans?”
    for choosing to be with 76 instead of his other batches
  • dingdong eduque – for showing the other batches that 76 could do more onstage than just look pretty for group photos
  • bertie villadelgado – for behaving & preventing World War 3 (again)
  • for anonymous donors who gave but don’t want to be recognized (thanks a lot, guys)
  • raul nanquil –
    a. for making sure we all enjoyed his company by making sure he wasn’t masungit that night because of a headache for bringing toti his bottle of wine
  • darryl duarte – for a great t-shirt design & patience with his batchmates who kept changing our minds
  • greg zara – for honoring us with his presence after 35years
  • for our departed batchmates who were with us in spirit i’m sure there are a lot more people to thank, but since my wife & i left early, we did not have the pleasure of being with them.

    a. For bringing Manny Monzon’s jw green
    b. For doing a solo performance to raise funds for our usual beneficiaries (i hope someone can upload his pix)
    c. For maintaining our website n uploading this short list
  • to all of you who bought shirts n to those who did not get their sukli- proceeds would go to said beneficiaries, etc
  • For fr dennis who celebrated the 5pm mass
  • Earl torres- For helping sell the tshirts n gathering his 4g classmates to join us – gerry banson, vic almanzor (also der 1st time)
  • Albert quintos, who drove again all the way from los angeles, pampanga with her two pretty daughters (they have attended homecomings more than 85% of us)
  • To our batchmates who pledged, please don’t forget to deposit ur donation (tonichi has email proof)
  • Bro bobby casingal – for keeping us TUGether n reserving a parking slot just across the entrance for very easy access n making sure the elections were clean
  • Bob jereza – who flew in from bacolod n kept me company at the gate w/greg zara
  • 75 of us (including hans) who made the night a very memorable one (still looking for the list i made)
  • Bong Joves – for mounting the troops at the right time
  • Romi beza – who was always coordinating our US based batchmates
  • For those who tried to make it but:
    a. Hoton – who flew in from cebu but got chills in the morning n had to miss the fun
    b. Junet l – who was always present in the past homecomings n documented them but had to rest this time for the Condura run
    c. Rolly leveriza, who got his shirt friday nite n i hope the TUGs will accept his reason this time
  • Almighty GOD – for making us healthy n wise to attend our 35th n hopefully our 40th, 50th, etc

    thanks pepper for helping me guide my bro rald & even driving my co-balikbayan amigo chuck back to fernandina..you’re a real trooper bro & ’twas great to finally bond w/ you.
